Clark Atlanta University's very own Dahmarre Bournes, also known as KwDaGoat, earned his first big international feature with the group "Olin MattiBlue." Olin Mattiblue is a Sony Music Thai indie pop band of three members: Int, Poa, and Copter. The song was released on October 16th. I met up with KwDaGoat to ask him a few questions and congratulate him on this milestone. We conducted this interview in his roommate's room in their two-bedroom apartment. The room was filled with a myriad of plants, colorful blankets, and musical elements. I sat on a beanbag chair while he worked, playing me songs as I prepared my questions.
He said the collaboration came about after he discovered them on the YouTube Explore page and remixed their song "Don't Cry for Me," released earlier this year. KW says, "They were like 'Oh yeah, we love this'". That remix was the catalyst for what would follow the next month. KW tells me that a month later, Olin MattiBlue reached out to him about a song that they were working on and asked him to be on it. The writing process for his verse took place over the summer while he worked as a landscaper in Connecticut. "Every time I had a little break, I would sit in the truck, and I would write the feature. It took me a little minute, because I was trying to figure out exactly what I wanted to say[...] I sent it back to them. They were like, 'This is fire... just change these words.' [...] so, I went back, changed the words up a little bit, and they said it was perfect."

The music video features the band Olin MattiBlue staying at an empty hotel, with KwDa Goat appearing on a portable TV screen. The group encounters an uninviting hostess and creepy hallways. With the band's positive attitude and upbeat personalities, they didn't notice the skull on the keychain as a room key, or that they were staying in room 666.
What goes through KW's mind knowing he is featured in a video that has 144,000 views on YouTube and counting? KW confessed, "It's mind-boggling, dude. Like, I remember I was just refreshing it every day just to see it hit 100,000 [views]. So, the fact that it is climbing is crazy". He goes on to express his gratitude for the opportunity and talks about this new era in his career.
"For all the stooges who are tuned in. It's a huge step in our career... there's been something going on inside of me, but we'll check that out soon."
