Democrats take Control of the House and Senate; Mississippi and Alaska Senate Races Still Too Close to Call
The Democratic Party has taken control of the United States Senate and House of Representatives in what is being called a “Blue Tsunami.”

Democrats have secured 54 seats in the Senate and counting. Texas and Kansas elected their first Democratic senators in decades. The party flipped seats in Ohio, Iowa, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Maine.

Mississippi and Alaska remain toss-ups as counting continues.
Mississippi has called on volunteers to help count ballots with 96% of votes accounted for. If Democrats take the lead, the typically socially conservative state will have a Democratic senator for the first time in 44 years.
